Puhreng
Puhreng is a county in contemporary Ngari prefecture. This mineral-rich region is 12,497 km2 in area and supports a semi-nomadic population of 7,300. As one of the oldest and most celebrated places in Tibetan history, Puhreng contains a number of sacred sites, including: Mount Tisé, Milarepa’s meditation cave at Gang Tsering, and the spring Tongwa Rangdröl – said to be the source of the Ganges.
