This building, to the northwest of the Jokhang (jo khang) temple in Lhasa, was part of a larger compound that served as the Lhasa residence of the Jamyang Zhepa ('jam dbyangs bzhad pa), the main reincarnate lama of Labrang Trashi Khyil (bla brang bkra shis 'khyil) monastery in Amdo. The building dated from the eighteenth century, but was demolished in 1992.
