Pögyung Gang (spos brgyungs sgang) is the tower at the southeastern corner of the perimeter wall around Zhöl (zhol), the village below the Potala (po ta la) Palace. It has not been recently renovated,  which the other gates and towers along the Zhöl wall have, and some of its walls may date back to at least the seventeenth century.
