Dungbuthang located about 15 kilometers away from Chamkhar town towards east along the national high way is developed pasture land with national sheep breeding centre stationed in it. According to older peoples, Dungbithang used to be a centre of Bumthang Dezhi where meetings involving people of Bumthang's four subcounty will be held on knoll at this palce. A stupa which can be seen in the area on a knoll is where the people will gather for meeting according oral accounts. Of recently a Zangdopelri temple was contructed by His Majesty the king representing the Pema Lingpa's visit to Zangdopelri in his vision while he was at this place.
