Ugyen Choeling

Ogyen Choling was founded by Terton Dorji Lingpa (1346-1405) on the place which was first blessed by Kuenkhen Longchen. Trongsa Ponlop Tsokye Dorji is a hostirical person bron among the 15th generation of the decendents of roji Lingpa. He was the Trongsa Penlop who was succeeded by Jigme Namgyal (1825-1881) in 1853, the father of the first king of Bhutan. It is majestically located on a hill over looking the Tang river that flows from Kizom. The small village surrounding the palace were the decendents of famalies who worked for the palace.
