Kharchu Dratshang

Bumthang Kharchu Monastery is established by the 6th Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche after he left Tibet during the Chinese invasion of Tibet. Today, the monastery is taken care of by the 7th incarnation of Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche who has further developed the monastery with the monastic school, collage and the retreat centre. A monastery known as the Lhodrak Kharchu, the main seat of the linage of Namkhai Nyingpos, also exists in Tibet.
