Chungthang Goenpa

A hill overlooking the Ura and Gadhen is known as the Chung Thang which mean a 'samll gound'. The small ground within the spruce tree on the hill top was used as the retreat area by the linage of Gadhen Lams since the old time. A ruin of ancient hermitage can also be found near the existing hermitage. In around 2005 the hermitage site was extended with construction of few hostels for monks.
