Pursheya

Purhselya is roughly translated as the glass mountain of holy mortal remains(death body). This is because the mountain stands high like a wrapped corpse with the rock bed on the face that overlooks the Ura valley appearing white like a reflection on glass when covered with snow. The mountain is considered as the residence of the local female deity known as Ashi Lhamo. Therefore on the 15th day of the 7th month of every Bhutanese lunar calendar, women from Ura go to the top of this mountain to dance to the singing ofAshi Lhamo, a song of praise for this local deity. It is the highest peak in the Ura valley .Due to its height only rhododendron bush can be found.
