Tang Mebar Tsho

Mebar tsho, means the burning lake. It is not that the lake is burning but because Terton Pema Lingpa submerged himself into the lake and came out with treasures he discovered and a butter lamp still burning in his hand. Therefore the 'burning lake'. Besides its spiritual significance, it is also a popular site among the tourists. The lake is located wihtin the running water of Tangchu few meters away from the national high way after crossing Dungbi Thang. Terton Pema Lingpa discovered many religious treasures from the lake.
