Khangchung Karpo
The Khangchung Karpo (khang chung dkar po) in Zhöl village below the Potala (po ta la) Palace was formerly a large residential complex for officials and servants of the Dalai Lama's government, including the person responsible for managing the government's horses. Most of the complex was demolished in the 1990s to make way for new buildings in a modern Tibetan style. The southwest wing of the original structure is still intact.
