Pabongka Labrang
The Pabongkha Labrang (pha bong kha bla brang), also known as Jarikpa (bya rigs pa), was built in the first half of the twentieth century as a residence in Lhasa for the abbot of Pabongkha (pha bong kha) Monastery. Located to the northeast of the Jokhang (jo khang) temple in Lhasa, it was made into public housing after 1959. The building was restored in 1999-2000 and maintains some original architectural features, including wall paintings.
