Wazhing

This is one of the five villages of Minjey_Wazhing Chiwog under the administration of Minjey Gewog in Lhuentse District. Tradition maintains that in the 13th-14th c., a Lama from Sumthrang Chojey visited the site and offered empowerments and teachings. The locals offered him land as an offering for the teaching, which gave rise to the site's name Wangzhing meaning the land offered in return for the teaching. Over time this glossed to Waangzhing and the Election Commission of Bhutan now has registered the name as Wazhing.
